How to cancel McAfee
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Renewal, canceling and refunds
McAfee subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Change auto-renewal in My Account. Full refunds are available within 30 days of the initial purchase or 60 days of a renewal charge — not for monthly subscriptions.
Annual or 2-year
Introductory first term, then yearly at the renewal price.
Monthly
No refunds.
Free trials
Payment details are required; you’re charged at the end unless you cancel first.
Turn off auto-renewal
Manage your subscription and auto-renewal settings in My Account on mcafee.com.
Timing — the important part
- McAfee charges your payment method 30 days before an annual term expires.
- You get a reminder email 30 days before the charge.
- To avoid the charge, cancel at least 31 days before expiration.
Refunds
- Within 30 days of your initial purchase.
- Within 60 days of a renewal charge.
- Not for monthly subscriptions.
