Editorial policy
Independence
Editorial content and the order of listings don’t depend on affiliate commissions. We pick the “best deal” based on the final price the user actually pays.
Content principles
- We write in clear, plain English and stick to the facts.
- We don’t use made-up tests or fake user reviews.
- We don’t present unconfirmed prices as official.
- We avoid unfounded superlatives.
“Is it worth it?” assessments
Assessments are based on features and price — who the service is and isn’t for, pros and cons, the cheapest and the best alternative.
Where we have enough checked facts, the reviews also show our own score from 1 to 5. It’s made of published criteria with weights: each criterion shows what we found and in which source, and an unchecked criterion isn’t counted in the score. We don’t make one overall ranking of all services: we order by score only within the same category — in category lists and on the home page cards — and services without a score come after them. How the score is calculated is described in the methodology.
