Which price we track
The price alert compares your limit with the same price the service page shows — the amount that comes back after a promotion, without the first-month promo price. If you track a specific plan, it’s compared only with that one: if you track the more expensive plan, you won’t get an email when the cheaper one drops. If you track a service without choosing a plan, it’s compared with its cheapest paid plan — then a new, cheaper plan also triggers an email.
Why not every plan can be tracked
You set the limit in dollars. For plans whose price the provider lists in another currency, no emails are sent: an amount converted at an exchange rate would be an estimate, and an estimate can’t be honestly compared with your limit. So if a plan doesn’t offer a price alert, the reason is the currency, not the form.
When the email arrives
Prices are compared once a day. The email is sent when the price drops to your limit or below — once. If the price stays at the same low level, no more emails come; if it drops further, you get a new one. A price that went up and then came back to the same level doesn’t trigger a second email: that’s on purpose, so emails stay rare and worth opening.
We only send emails once you’ve confirmed your address: after you sign up you get a confirmation email, and until you click the link in it we send nothing. Every email has a link to stop the alert.
What it’s good for
Subscription prices change quietly — in an email nobody reads, or simply as a different amount on the bill. Under price changes we collect what has become more expensive or cheaper according to our checks. The price alert solves the opposite task: not spotting an increase, but waiting out a decrease — when you want to go back to a service but not at today’s price, or when you’re waiting for a cheaper plan.
Privacy
We use your email address only for this alert: it isn’t shared with providers and doesn’t become a subscription to any newsletter. When you stop the alert, we send no more emails about it.
What the price alert doesn’t do
It doesn’t track your personal price in your account — only the public US price we’ve checked. It doesn’t work in real time: prices are checked once a day, so a same-day change may reach you the next day. And it isn’t a sales offer: the email links to our page about the service, and you buy from the provider as usual.
