How to cancel Apple TV
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Canceling
On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Apple TV → Cancel Subscription; it can also be done on the web, Mac, Windows or Android. If there’s no Cancel button, the subscription is already canceled. If you got Apple TV through a carrier or other provider, cancel with them.
Monthly
Cancel any time in your subscriptions.
Through a carrier or provider
The company that bills you handles cancellation.
Trials
Apple says to cancel a trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you don’t want it to renew.
On iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Apple TV.
- Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down.
If there’s no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled.
Apple also lets you cancel on the web, on a Mac, a Windows PC or an Android device.
Free trial
If you don’t want the trial to turn into a paid subscription, Apple says to cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Can’t find the subscription?
- Search your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple”.
- Check which Apple Account is on the receipt.
- If it’s a family member’s account, they have to cancel it — you can’t cancel a family member’s subscription.
- If it’s another Apple Account of yours, sign in to that account and cancel there.
No receipt from Apple? You may have bought Apple TV from another company — check your bank or card statement and cancel with whoever bills you.
Through a carrier or another provider
If your wireless carrier or another provider bills you, contact them to cancel.
