How to cancel Amazon Prime Video

The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.

Canceling and refunds

Cancel Amazon Prime under Manage Prime Membership; a Prime Video-only membership under Account & Settings → End Subscription. If you signed up through Google Play or another company, cancel with them.

Monthly or yearly Prime

Paid members who haven’t used their benefits can get a full refund for the current period, according to Amazon.

Channels

Channel subscriptions like Paramount+ continue after Prime ends — cancel them separately.

Prime Video comes three ways, and each is canceled differently: as part of Amazon Prime, as a standalone Prime Video membership, or with the Prime Video Ultra add-on on top. Channel subscriptions such as Paramount+ are separate again.

Amazon Prime

Go to Manage Prime Membership and follow the prompts. Paid members who haven’t used their benefits are eligible for a full refund of the current membership period; Amazon says the refund takes three to five business days. If you signed up through Google Play, cancel in Google Play subscriptions; if Prime came with another company’s service, contact that company.

Prime Video only

On primevideo.com: Account & Settings → Your Account → End Subscription. If a mobile provider or other third party set up the subscription, contact them.

Prime Video Ultra

  • Website: Your Account → Cancel Ultra → confirm.
  • Fire TV, smart TVs, consoles, set-top boxes: Settings → Prime → Cancel Ultra.
  • Android, iOS, Fire tablet: Settings → Prime & Subscriptions → Cancel Ultra.

Ads return after the billing cycle ends. If Apple bills you for Ultra, cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.

Channels keep billing

Amazon says subscriptions on Prime Video, like Paramount+, continue after your Prime membership ends. Cancel each channel separately.
