How to cancel YouTube TV
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Canceling
YouTube TV has no annual contract and says there are no cancellation fees. Cancel where you’re billed — in your YouTube TV account, or with the app store or partner that bills you.
Monthly, no contract
Cancel any time; the intro offer has no refunds.
NFL Sunday Ticket
It requires an active YouTube TV plan — canceling YouTube TV ends your access to it.
Deleting the app isn’t canceling
Payments continue until you cancel where you’re billed.
Five steps
- Go to YouTube TV in a web browser.
- Select your profile photo.
- Go to Settings → Membership.
- Click Manage.
- Click Cancel membership → Cancel.
Add-on networks can also be removed one by one, without canceling the whole membership.
What happens after you cancel
You keep access until the end of your payment period — or your free trial. YouTube TV says canceling doesn’t remove access immediately, even during the trial; to lose access right away, you have to contact support. After the period ends:
- add-on networks stop, and you can’t add networks without a membership;
- recordings in your library expire after 21 days;
- if you come back, you may not get promotional prices or your old recordings.
Canceling YouTube TV also ends NFL Sunday Ticket, which requires an active YouTube TV plan.
Pause instead of canceling
Settings → Membership → Manage, then use the slider and click Pause. A pause lasts from 4 weeks to 6 months and starts after your current billing cycle. While paused, you can’t watch and nothing new is recorded; earlier recordings are kept until the pause ends (still subject to the 9-month expiration). When the pause ends, you’re charged the normal monthly price automatically, and that becomes your new billing date. You can resume earlier at any time.
Refunds
The current intro offer says no refunds. Purchases made through Apple or Google Play follow their refund rules.
