How to cancel YouTube Music
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Canceling and pausing
Cancel, pause or resume at youtube.com/paid_memberships. Benefits continue to the end of the billing period. If Apple or Google Play bills you, cancel there.
Monthly
Renews automatically; pause for 1–6 months or cancel any time.
12-month plan
Prepaid and non-recurring; not refundable, can’t be paused.
Billed by Apple or Google Play
Cancel in that account; pausing isn’t available through Apple.
On a computer
- Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships.
- Click Manage membership, then Deactivate.
- Click Continue to cancel.
- Select a reason, click next, then Yes, cancel.
You won’t be charged again unless you resubscribe, and your benefits continue until the end of the billing period. The free YouTube Music app stays available.
Trouble canceling?
- Billed by Apple: if you joined from the YouTube iOS app, cancel in your Apple account.
- Billed by Google Play: cancel in your Google Play account settings.
- Already canceled? Check the paid membership section at youtube.com/paid_memberships.
Pause instead
Monthly memberships can be paused for 1 to 6 months, starting after the current billing cycle. The 12-month plan can’t be paused — and since it’s prepaid and doesn’t renew, there’s nothing to cancel; it ends by itself.
