How to cancel Udemy
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Refunds and billing
Udemy is unable to refund Personal Plan subscriptions bought on udemy.com unless the law requires it; its list of countries with required refund periods doesn’t include the US. Eligible single courses can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. App purchases are handled by Apple and Google Play.
Personal Plan
Monthly or annual, cancel anytime.
Through the app
Apple and Google handle billing and refunds.
Trial counts
Where refunds are required, the refund period starts on the first day of a promotional trial.
Bought on udemy.com
- Sign in on udemy.com and open the Subscriptions page — it’s in the drop-down menu at the top right.
- Cancel your Personal Plan there.
Udemy’s checkout says it plainly: cancel anytime by visiting the Subscriptions page, and cancel before the next billing period starts to avoid the next charge.
Bought in the iPhone or Android app
Payments for subscriptions started in the Udemy app are processed by Apple and Google Play, not Udemy. Cancel in your Apple or Google Play subscriptions.
On a free trial
Free trials come only with promotions. You can cancel at any time during the trial without being charged; otherwise it converts to the paid plan automatically. The trial’s end date and the price after it are shown on your Subscriptions page.
Refunds
Udemy gives no refunds or partial credits for Personal Plan except where the law requires it — and the US isn’t on its list of countries with a required refund period. Single courses are different: eligible courses can be refunded within 30 days.
