How to cancel Surfshark
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Renewal and what the provider says about it
Surfshark’s plans renew automatically. The 24-month plan’s price covers the first 27 months (24 + 3 extra) and the 12-month plan’s the first 15; the US price list doesn’t show the renewal price. The monthly plan is billed monthly. The 12- and 24-month plans start with a 7-day free trial on up to three devices; after it you’re charged for the plan you chose. Surfshark notes that VAT or tax may apply.

The intro price isn’t the price of the service
Surfshark’s US price list doesn’t show the renewal amount, so the long-plan price only tells you what the first term costs.
If you bought on the Surfshark website
- Log in to your Surfshark account page.
- Click your email address in the top-right corner and select Subscription.
- Open the Payments section.
- Click Cancel auto-renewal and confirm.
Automatic payments stop, and the subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. You can also cancel through Surfshark’s live chat.
If you don’t see Cancel auto-renewal, you probably bought through an app store.
If you bought through an app store
The store that billed you manages the subscription:
- Google Play — cancel in Google Play subscriptions.
- Apple App Store — cancel in your Apple account settings.
- Amazon Appstore — cancel in the Amazon account you used.
Refunds
Canceling auto-renewal doesn’t refund anything — it only stops future payments. Surfshark doesn’t refund the unused part of an active period. If you bought within the last 30 days, the separate 30-day money-back guarantee applies.
