How to cancel Perplexity
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Canceling and refunds
Cancel where you subscribed: on the web in Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription, or in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Your account goes back to the free version at the end of the billing period.
Monthly or annual
Renews automatically until you cancel; there’s no pause.
Bought in the app
Apple or Google bills you; App Store refunds go through Apple.
Refunds are measured in hours
In the US: up to 24 hours after buying a monthly plan; for annual plans Perplexity’s pages say 48 or 72 hours.
On the web
Open Settings, scroll to Subscription, click Manage Subscription and choose Cancel subscription. Requesting a refund, if you’re still eligible, is offered in the same flow.
On iPhone or iPad
Open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then Subscriptions → Perplexity - Ask Anything → Cancel subscription.
On Android
Open Google Play, tap the settings icon in the upper right, then Payments & Subscriptions → Perplexity - Ask Anything → Cancel subscription.
Before you delete your account
Deleting your Perplexity account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel first, then delete.
When it ends
Your plan runs to the end of the billing period, then the account goes back to the free version. There’s no pause option — cancel and subscribe again later instead.
Refunds (US)
- Monthly plans: request within 24 hours of purchase.
- Annual plans: Perplexity’s refund page says 72 hours; its Max billing FAQ says 48 hours — ask as early as you can.
- App Store purchases are refunded through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play refunds go through Perplexity support.
Perplexity says it can’t process a second refund after one has been granted.
