How to cancel NordVPN
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Renewal and what the provider says about it
NordVPN’s plans renew automatically unless you cancel. On the 2-year plan the intro price covers the first 27 months (24 + 3 extra), then it renews yearly at the renewal price the price list shows next to it. The monthly plan renews monthly; the order page says the renewal price is the same monthly price, plus sales tax where it applies.
Prepaid term with auto-renewal
Intro price for the first 27 months, then yearly renewal at a higher price. Auto-renewal can be turned off in your Nord Account any time.
The intro price isn’t the price of the service
The renewal price is several times the intro price. The provider doesn’t hide it, but you have to read it — on renewal day the decision is no longer yours.
If you bought from NordVPN
- Log in to your Nord Account.
- Open the Billing tab.
- Click Cancel next to Auto-renewal.
- Select Cancel auto-renewal.
The auto-renewal status changes to off, and you get a confirmation email. The plan won’t renew at the next billing date. The same steps cancel NordPass, NordLocker, a Dedicated IP or a bundle.
If you bought through an app store
Subscriptions bought on Google Play, the Apple App Store or the Amazon Appstore are canceled in that store, not in your Nord Account.
Refunds
Canceling auto-renewal stops future charges; it doesn’t refund the current period by itself. NordVPN’s 30-day money-back guarantee is a separate request.
