How to cancel iCloud+
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Canceling or downgrading
iCloud+ is billed monthly through your Apple Account. Cancel or change the plan in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone or iPad, or from your Apple Account on the web, Mac or Windows.

Apple One
If iCloud+ comes in Apple One, manage it as part of that bundle.
Check your space first
If you go back to 5 GB, make sure your backups and photos still fit.
On iPhone (iOS 18.4 and later)
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then iCloud+ under Active.
- To cancel, tap Cancel Subscription. To move to a smaller plan instead, tap See All Plans and choose one.
On older iPhones
- iOS 18 to 18.3: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Plan → Downgrade Options.
- iOS 17 and earlier: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Downgrade Options.
A blue check next to your new plan confirms the change. It takes effect when the current billing period ends.
No Apple device anymore? Apple lets you cancel iCloud+ online.
Before you cancel
Download or remove anything that won’t fit in the free 5 GB. If you’re over the limit, iCloud stops syncing and backups don’t complete until you free up space.
On the free plan you also lose iCloud+ features such as Hide My Email, Private Relay and HomeKit Secure Video.
Apple One and refunds
If you pay for Apple One too, you can cancel the separate iCloud+ plan and keep the storage included in Apple One. If you changed your plan recently, Apple says to contact it within 14 days for a refund.
