How to cancel Hulu

The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.

Canceling

Hulu says there are no long-term commitments or cancellation fees. Where you cancel depends on who bills you — Hulu, Disney+ (for bundles), an app store or a partner.

Billed by Hulu or Disney+

Cancel in your account; bundles bought through Disney+ are managed there.

Billed by someone else

If an app store, Spotify (Student plan) or another partner provides Hulu, cancel or change it there.

Deleting the app isn’t canceling

Payments continue until you cancel where you’re billed.

If Hulu bills you

  1. Open your Account page in a computer or mobile browser.
  2. Select Cancel under Your Subscription.
  3. You may be offered a pause — select Continue to Cancel if you don’t want it.
  4. Select Cancel Subscription.

Canceling doesn’t delete your Hulu account or the Disney account you use elsewhere.

Pause instead of canceling

On your Account page, under Your Subscription, click Pause, set a duration of up to 12 weeks, and submit. The subscription restarts automatically when the pause ends and monthly billing resumes. You can reactivate early at any time.

Pausing isn’t available for annual subscribers, for most third-party billing (Amazon and Roku are exceptions), for accounts on hold, for gift-card subscriptions or during a promotion.

Bundles and third parties

If you upgraded an existing subscription to a bundle, canceling has extra steps — check which subscription is billed. If Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku or another partner bills you, cancel with them.

Live TV recordings

Cloud DVR recordings are lost if the account is canceled or put on a billing hold — but not if you pause.
