How to cancel ExpressVPN

The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.

Renewal and what the provider says about it

ExpressVPN’s 2-year plans run for 2 years plus 4 months: the intro price covers the first 28 months, then the plan renews annually at a higher price. Prices are in USD, and sales tax is added at checkout where applicable.

Not in the app

You can’t cancel inside the ExpressVPN app — use the ExpressVPN website or the app store you bought from.

If you bought on expressvpn.com

If you paid by credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay on the ExpressVPN website:

  1. Open any browser and go to My subscription.
  2. Log in to your ExpressVPN account if asked.
  3. Click Cancel subscription below Automatic renewal and follow the prompts.

You won’t be billed for another cycle, and you can use ExpressVPN until the last day of the current one.

No Cancel subscription option? ExpressVPN says this can happen after a failed renewal payment; removing your saved payment method turns automatic renewal off.

If you bought through the App Store or Google Play

Cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the next billing date ends.

  • iPhone or iPad: App Store → profile icon → Subscriptions → ExpressVPN → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ExpressVPN → Cancel Subscription.

Bitcoin or Paymentwall

These subscriptions don’t renew automatically, so there’s nothing to cancel.

Refunds and ExpressKeys

The 30-day money-back guarantee is for first-time users who bought on the website; App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded under the store’s rules. After canceling, you can still open the logins saved in ExpressKeys, but you can’t add new ones.
