How to cancel Duolingo Super
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Canceling and refunds
You can cancel Super at any time, on the platform where you started it. You keep Super until the end of the paid period, and you won’t be billed again. Canceling doesn’t refund past payments, and charges aren’t prorated.
App or web subscription
Renews automatically until you cancel.
Apple or Google Play
Cancel and request refunds with them.
Deleting isn’t canceling
Removing the app or your account doesn’t stop the subscription.
In the Duolingo app (iOS or Android)
- Tap the Super icon at the top of the home screen.
- Tap Settings (the gear icon), then Manage subscription.
- Select Cancel subscription and confirm through the App Store or Google Play.
On the web
- Sign in on duolingo.com.
- Click your profile picture and choose Settings.
- Select Super Duolingo, then Cancel subscription, and confirm.
If you subscribed in your phone’s settings
On iPhone, cancel in your Apple subscriptions. On Android, Duolingo asks you to submit a support request.
Free trial
The 1-week trial charges on day 7. Duolingo says to cancel at least 24 hours before to avoid the charge, and sends a reminder around day 5.
After canceling
- Your streak and progress aren’t affected.
- You keep Super until the end of the period you paid for.
- Past payments aren’t refunded or prorated. Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel.
