How to cancel Claude AI

The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.

Canceling and refunds

Cancel any time from the platform you signed up on: on the web or desktop in Settings > Billing; in the iOS or Android app under Billing → Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Monthly or yearly Pro

Cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date to avoid the next charge.

Bought in the app

Apple or Google bills you; only Apple can refund App Store charges.

Refunds are the exception

Anthropic says payments are non-refundable except as stated in its Consumer Terms or where required by law.

On the web or desktop

Sign in on claude.ai or open Claude Desktop, click your initials or name in the lower left corner, choose Settings, then Billing, and cancel your plan.

In the iOS or Android app

Tap your initials in the top right corner, choose Billing, then Manage subscription, and follow the prompts. Apple or Google handles the subscription and payment.

When it ends

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep the paid plan until then. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date. On Max, monthly API credits stop with the plan; credits you already have stay usable until they expire.

Refunds

Anthropic says payments are non-refundable except as stated in its Consumer Terms or where required by law; eligible requests go through Get help → Send us a message → Claude Refund Request. App Store purchases can only be refunded by Apple.
