How to cancel Avast
The steps depend on WHERE you subscribed — directly, through your phone, internet or TV provider, or in an app store. Below are all the ways this service is sold and how to end each one.
Renewal and refunds
Avast Premium Security is a yearly subscription with a discounted first year and a regular renewal price. It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Keeping automatic renewal on also keeps Avast’s Stay Safe Virus Guarantee.
Yearly
First-year price, then the renewal price.
30-day guarantee
Money back within 30 days.
Auto-renew trade-off
Turning it off avoids surprise charges but ends the Stay Safe Virus Guarantee.
Cancel the renewal in your Avast Account
- Sign in to your Avast Account.
- On the My subscriptions tile, click Manage subscriptions.
- Under the subscription, click Manage subscription.
- Click Unsubscribe or Cancel renewal, review the details and click Confirm & finish.
- Optionally give a reason, then confirm again and click Close.
Avast emails a confirmation, and the subscription shows as Expiring. Repeat for each subscription if you have more than one.
Bought through Google Play or the App Store? Cancel in that store — these steps don’t apply.
Watch the date
Avast charges before the expiration date so protection doesn’t lapse. Cancel before the next billing date to avoid the charge — an expired card isn’t enough, because card companies often update details automatically. If the date is inconvenient, you can postpone your payment date by up to 30 days, once per billing cycle.
Refunds
Contact Avast within 30 days of purchase for a full refund on consumer products bought on Avast’s website or through an offer inside an Avast product. Purchases from stores, resellers or the App Store follow their own rules. Card and PayPal refunds take up to 7 business days, other methods up to 14.
